When doing a search on my own screen name (yes, yes, how vain can I get, blah blah blah), there is a thread that I’ve posted in twice, both recently, that does not come up with I do a search (namely, the “New .sig for Jack Dean Tyler” thread in the Pit). Any ideas why this wouldn’t come up? Seems rather odd, as all the rest that I’ve posted in come up with no problem.

I feel sure this is the “delayed recation” in the indexing, that appears usually when the system is busy.

No, I don’t do the search in my profile by posts I posted, but rather I do a general search on “Esprix,” in case someone mentions me and I wasn’t aware I was being discussed. (Yes, yes, I know, be quiet. :D) And yes, doing the search from my profile does garner all the posts I myself have posted.
But your explanation is interesting. Any chance this is being looked into?

If I had to do it all over again, I’d have chosen a different user name. I don’t know what, but…just about anything would be better than “DRY”. YOU do a general search on “dry”. “Dry cleaners”, “dry heaves”, “dry run”, and my personal favorite “dry spell” ARGH!

I just did a search on my own poster name, as the postername. Only came up with 44 threads, instead of the some 2000. Something is wrong.
Yeah, the default is now to search only in the last five days. Go and select “any date” from the list.
For the record, it’s not showing the thread mentioned in the OP, and I’ve posted to it within the last two days, and when searching on “Esprix” it doesn’t show up in any search, no matter how many days, at all.

Esprix, is your name mentioned in a post in the thread? I think the search only searches the text inside posts and not usernames.
Yup - I sign my name to every post (and it’s not part of my .sig either). And I know I spelled it right in the thread mentioned.

However, I still found the thread in a word search on “esprix” just now.
Might be the same delayed indexing thing?
Just did a search and, for the first time, you’re right - it finally showed up.
