Is it possible to search for shows/movies available on Netflix someplace on line without being a member. Yes I am a member and can use their horrible search through my TV, but I’d prefer to use my computer. And yes I can go to the Just Watch site, but that will give me shows from many sources I can buy.
What I’d like is a list of movies and shows I could just search using Firefox’s or IE’s simple search.
The only question even close to this with Netflix’s FAQ, is "What’s the selection like? To which they answer: “We have thousands of movies and TV shows available to watch instantly on any device that streams Netflix. There are never any commercials no matter how much you watch, and you can pause, rewind, fast forward or re-watch as often as you like. It’s really that easy!”
Gee thanks for the ad Netflix, but what IS the selection like?
I get the impression they don’t want a list available on line because if a prospective buyer didn’t find the one show he was interested in he might not sign up for the free trial and get hooked in.
Hmm I’d better stop now or I might have to pit them.
This is one of my gripes. Searching using my Vizio smart TV in the living room is a pain. The search using the Roku in the bedroom is a pain. Both use different clients for both Netflix and Prime. mcgato’s link looks promising.
I’ve wondered the same thing about Hulu. I’m thinking of signing up for it at some point, but I already subscribe to Netflix, and it would be nice to know exactly what I’d be getting with Hulu that I don’t already have access to.
Can’t get that site to work at all. If I click on Filter, whatever I typed into the search area disappears. If I click back to re-enter that name, the filter choices reset.
Why do you think you can’t use your computer? If you have access with your TV you can use your computer. Just go to www.netflix.com with your computer and sign in with the same credentials you used with your TV.
