Seattle Pub Trivia 2010: The Return of the Smurf

Posting early because I probably won’t be able to tomorrow. I’ve got jury duty.

But I plan to go to the Old P afterwards. See you there.

I plan to be there.

I should be there tonight. What is this world coming to?

(Requested round: '90s cartoons.)

I’m planning to be there, and so is Cervaise. I might bring the baked good I’d planned to bring last week, if it thaws in time.

December 7

I’m out tonight, thanks to another nasty preschool cold. Cervaise is out because of illness, too, and Interrobang!? is doing his Ignite thing (break a leg!) so he’s out, too.

Anyone else still planning to go?

I’m planning on going. Looks like I should be prepared to join another team, if any of them will have me.

I’ll be witnessing Interrobang!?'s star turn at Ignite, so I’m out.

I joined a pickup team, and the five of us managed a second-place score. A couple of the rounds were brutal (we scored a 2 in round one), so that second place only required 53.5 points.

December 14

I’m planning to be there tonight (with goodies!), and Cervaise is, too. Interrobang!? is hosting, and I think the special round is spaceships.

Anyone else?

Christmas is drawing near, have you got any idea about the gifts? What about a good electric product?

…uh, I mean, yes, I’ll be there.

I’ll attend the festivities.

I’ll be there.

There’s an off chance I’ll be showing up at 8pm. It’s about 50-50 at this point, and I will not be driving a space ship.

I’ll be staying down in Tacoma for the next couple weeks (and may be back in a couple months), you looking for any ringers to help fill out the pub trivia team?

Kevin’s hosting, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what he’s bringing in his attempt to top last year’s hilarious holiday audio round. Who else is free for an evening away from shopping and wrapping stuff?

Robot Arm, you are most definitely welcome to join in. While the team is most often just us regulars, the reason it’s organized here is so that other Dopers will know about it. We love new blood and brains and such.

The quiz does run until around 10, so if you’re prepared to drive back to Tacoma at that hour, you should come on up to Seattle and help us win money. I don’t have a Straight Dope book handy, but I’ll put a string of battery-powered Christmas lights on the table so you can find us. I should be there to stake out our territory around 5 pm or so.

I’ll be there tonight. The requested round topic is Broadway Musicals of the '90s, so I hope someone knows something about those.

Robot Arm, hope we get to meet you!

I’m planning to be there (sans goodies, sorry!), and Cervaise is a maybe.

Kinda short notice, but I think I can make it. Where and what time? (I’m on a desperately slow computer, it would take an hour to read the whole thread.)

I’m not much on '90s Broadway musicals, though.

I’m in. Due to misspent college years, I should be pretty good with '90s Broadway musicals.

The quiz starts at 8 pm, but you’ll want to arrive a bit early if you can, so we have time to go over your resume ;).

I don’t know where exactly you’re coming from, but you can probably find Interstate 5. Go north to Seattle. After you’ve passed through the skyscraper section of town, you’ll cross a big bridge. Get in the right lane while you’re crossing it. Take the next exit, which is for 46th Street NE, and turn left, so you’re heading west. The street will do a few weird things, but just follow the traffic when 45th decides to become 46th, and down the big hill, which will bear you northwest a bit. When you hit the bottom, you’ll find yourself on Market Street NW. Stay on it, going west. Eventually, you’ll see a 7-11 on your right. The Old Peculiar is in the middle of the very next block, also on the right.

If that’s too detailed, you’ll do fine with just “Take the first exit after the bridge, turn left, and follow the road until you see the 7-11 on your right. The OP is a few doors further on.”
