It’s funny; when I saw the thread title I thought of Anthony Andrews, as the copy of Brideshead Revisited that I have is from the 80s when the TV miniseries came out. I also have an old paperback copy of Ivanhoe featuring Andrews on the cover from the TV movie that was out at the time. Oddly enough, although I never saw either movie, I did see Andrews starring in the TV movie for The Scarlet Pimpernel, but I never read the book!
I guess Andrews missed Cecil’s February 8, 2002 column
