I don’t think it’s fair to make fun of someone because of his or her looks, weight, or name. But when said person acts like an absolute jerk, anything is fair game in my book. Maybe that makes me a jerk too, but it’s a policy I can live with.
No, and perhaps we shouldn’t call her a fat bitch. It’s not like she looks bad because she’s fat; I’ve seen plenty of fat people who didn’t look like her. She is, however, ugly, and I’ve seen other people who are ugly in the same way. It’s an ugly that comes from looking like you never smile; there’s a certain kind of look that comes from not taking care of yourself at all. And she’s got it in spades.

Unless you’re talking about a federal statute, I don’t think so. Florida legislators are too lazy to keep up with the special protection other states provides such groups, so the worst this woman can expect is a few counts of felony battery; she could be sentenced to as few as 5 years 
You know, I’ve been getting the Vulnerable Adults and Maltreatment of Minors Act drilled into my head for years now, at every training session and staff meeting I go to. All this time I thought it was a federal statute but a little cursory research shows that it’s just a Minnesota thing. I’m sure other states have similar laws but I made a mistake in assuming this woman would be subject to the laws that I am subject to as a care provider in my state.
Would that she was.
Perhaps if enough of us Floridians are up in arms about this, we’ll get similar legislation passed here.

It’s extremely easy to get this work. If you don’t give a shit, it’s very easy work. You just don’t do anything. It’s practically free money. You don’t need much training or education. Your charges rarely complain, and if you’re on the right shift, you can sleep through most of it. It’s extremely difficult to find dedicated people at just-over-minimum wage.
