Then I saw her last night on Bill Maher’s HBO talk show :eek:
Stringy blond hair, BIG shoulder tattoos, and gaunt sunken cheeks! WTF?!?!

Sorry, I thought you meant she was doing her stand-up act again. I love her as an actress, and think she’s more intelligent than mos celebrities that speak out on issues they care about but have never care for that "it’s funny that I’m not funny style of stand-up and sketch comedy.
But yeah, any links to photos, some of us are too poor to pay for HBO for a few good shows, tired reruns of movies, and Bill Maher pouting on the air.
Is this the new look? I don’t think she looks bad as a blonde, although I think her original color did suit her better. However, her outfit?! Eeek. And, whatever color your hair is, maybe you should comb it before going on TV?

Janeane Angelina Jolie Garafola? Yeah, I saw her. The blonde works (and I don’t like blondes much, but it helps her)…but the whole pouty lips tattoo and Angelina Jolie thing works much better on…well…Angelina Jolie.
She seems to have become the exact same type of person she used to slam mercilessly in her stand-up routine. I guess she really does loathe herself like she said.
I like her stand up. I’ve liked her in her roles in the movies.

We’re making fun of her because she lost weight and dyed her hair? Christ-o-rama. I like her better with dark hair, but I don’t imagine this will affect her sense of humor. Also, at least some of the tattoos aren’t new.
No, we’re making fun of her because she completely changed her look in order to project an ‘image’, when she used to go around saying that people who did that sucked, and she hated the pretention of it, and she used to go out of her way to just be herself. Now she looks like some kind of artificial creation.

Oh she did, did she? And you base that assessment on what? She cut and dyed her hair? She lost a little weight, when she’s complained about her weight onstage a lot? Big whoop.
By the way, a look at some of the older pictures indicates she’s had short hair at other times, so that’s not even a new thing. She hasn’t got breast implants and she doesn’t look like the women she’s complained about who spend hours upon hours starving themselves and working out. So we’re having this argument over a dye job and at most, one new tattoo.

I wasn’t really making fun of her. I think her standup is great and she was particularly good on the HBO special to which many people are referring. The only tiny problem I have is that her whole gig was centered around the idea of not taking yourself too seriously and how she loathed those who do. Ever since the war in Iraq she’s done nothing but take herself too seriously. My gut feeling is that this change is an attempt to divorce herself from the lovable light-hearted image she had in hopes of being taken more seriously in the role of militant liberal watchdog. Not a big deal mind you, but nothing in Cafe Society is.

She changed her hair color. Women (and some men) I know do that about every two weeks. Also, news flash: everybody has tattoos now. Their semiotic fashion value is about the same as wearing earrings.
well, those are the pics but maybe it happened to be the particular scene I saw because she doesn’t look too bad there, but I could swear her cheeks were sunken & she looked gaunt when I saw it. So apologies to Miss J but DON’T LOSE ANY MORE!
