I refuse to make myself anymore mentally ill than I am, otherwise, by engaging in some rebellion that has absolutely no chance of stopping this runaway train. And will undoubtedly kill me or my loved ones.
Make your t-shirts, carry your signs. Scream your hate to others wearing MAGA hats, carrying signs(and no telling what else) have the backing of the federal government, screaming hate right back.

This is why students need to be taught history and more than just memorizing dates to pass a test. This is also why conservatives want only their version of history taught (if taught at all).

For elections? Let’s see . . . that’s 2016, but after the primaries. Before the primaries would have been better yet, but in November would indeed have worked.
A couple of questions:
Does “localized government” mean that a given locality can choose to violate human rights? to not fund safety nets? etc.
Does “non-interventionism” mean also no non-violent means of dealing with other countries – no foreign aid, no diplomatic negotiations, no trade encouragement or restrictions?
(and, yeah, what are you going to do when Trump sends the army?

That’s an, um, optimistic take on what’s happening. It looks like of the six New England states, only Connecticut has a state chapter leader. Would you say that of the roughly 15,000,000 folks living in New England, more or less than 150 (0.001%) are active in this movement?
There are meaningful ways to meet the moment. I cannot imagine that New England Secession is a meaningful way.
They voted for a greedy, hate-filled toddler who made impossible promises to ‘fix’ the economy. Since then, Trump has ruined our alliances. He has sided with a dictator invading a country against the democratically elected leader or the invaded country. He has transported poeple from the US to prison in another country without due process.
We are fighting to preserve democracy, due process, and the Constitution. We are not remotely the same!!!
Give money to who? Trump has said he will not rule out a third term. His official web site is selling merchandise for his next campaign for President. In case anybody forgot, an amendment to The Constitution specifically prevents Trump from serving a third term. There is doubt whether there will be a fair and meaningful election ever again.
I am not a fan of violence or war. They are sometimes necessary.
Trump’s poll numbers are plummeting. People forgot how much he sucked, but by God is he reminding them. This is a phenomenal time to resist, in the form of widespread protests, financial support for legal challenges, contacting your representatives to pressure them, and more. It’s a terrible time to be quiet.
That said, it’s also a fucking terrific time to not be assholes to wavering Magaheads. If you think someone might be less enthusiastic about Trump, please don’t Nelson Muntz them. Do not sneer about the leopard eating their face. Instead, welcome them to the opposition in whatever way is likeliest to get them to join the opposition.
Right now, right now this second, there’s someone who’s thinking that maybe they don’t want to support Trump anymore. They’re looking across the street. If they see that the left is going to humiliate them and scream at them if they cross the street, they won’t cross the street. And we need everyone on our side that we can get.
Don’t compromise your morals, but do compromise your expressions of entirely earned schadenfreude. Not because those fuckers are great people, but because we need those fuckers not to be on Trump’s side.
