I saw this the other night on the tube and was shocked. Somehow, this bugs me a lot more than other modification procedures or surgeries. I think it’s not only the vanity factor but the desire of some people to go to any lengths just to buy overpriced shoes that throw their spines out of whack.
Just awful.
From the link.
Sombody needs to get a life.
Soul…Sole? Silly play on words?
If I ever need to get something done. I don’t want her on my side.
i saw a show about this to i think its disgusting, what we are seeing is the 21st century version of chinese foot binding except now we have it self imposed.
nasty.
Um, actually, I think I could.
Heck, that article makes me want to throw out any shoes I have other than sneakers!
Anita Bonita (shyeah, that’s not a pseudonym):
Don’t you presume to speak for me, you screwed-up little fashion-slave jackass.
And this is why it’s impossible for me to find flats, but thanks to back and hip problems, I have been forbidden to wear heels by several doctors. I’m screwed, aren’t I?
Good Lord.
I mostly wear sneakers.
I live in my sneakers and black ankle boots with rounded toes…
I don’t see why anyone would want to wear high heels but don’t begrudge them the chance to do so… but at 6’1 I don’t need to be any taller (I’m nowhere near model looking) it’s bad enough trying to pick up guys when you tower over them in stocking feet!
now where did she get the money for those i wonder?? cough cough taking advantage cough
300 pairs of shoes at fucking $500 a pop?
THAT IS MORE MONEY THAN I HAVE EARNED IN MY ENTIRE LIFETIME! I could buy a hugeass, brand spanking new 4 bedroom house here, with a yard, for $150,000!!! I could LIVE on 150k for the rest of my life provided I was careful and worked at least part time!!!
Dr. Anita Bonita Dumbshit earns her own money and thus can spend it on whatever she wants, but I swear I don’t understand rich people. They spend their cash on the most insane, insignificant stuff! If someone stuck a designer label on a package of dog shit, some of them would buy it.
Manolo himself was recently in a very high-end all around here and it was a bit disturbing to watch the “lizard women” (who’ve been pulled and tucked one too many times) laugh about how much they spend on his shoes. One said “They cost $600. unless my husband is asking, then they cost $50.” Ugh.
Plain, chunky heel, rounded toe work shoes for me!
I’ve never owned a pair of heels.
I confess…I love my heels…my newest pair are 4 inch highes…
I’m only 5’4, and I feel much more confident in them…
but they only cost $20 bucks (and I got them on sale :D)
And I can walk in them just fine without surgery, thank you!
The best thing that happened, after a severely broken foot and 3 surguries, was when the surgeon sat me down and said I’d never wear heels again.
I coulda kissed the man.
I like heels, but only medium, chunky ones, which are easier to walk on.
I prefer slippers. Those little silky ones that look like ballet slippers. They’re so cute.
I’m another one that would be way too tall with heels. I’m 5’10 and wore heels in my youth. I’m grateful for the opportunity to NOT wear them now.
So if they’re so essential to life, how is it that I’ve managed to avoid wearing any to date?
I never liked high heels and never wore any that were over 2". Even so, I had to have bunion surgery on my right foot five years ago, and I would have had it on my left foot by now if the first surgery hadn’t been so painful. I never, ever wear heels, and I don’t miss them at all. Life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes, and exercise has made my calves taut enough for me.
ewww…yet another reason for me to never buy a pair…this makes me dislike heels just on principle.
Speaking from a guy’s point of view, you know what I think is sexy? … barefoot women !!!
NO surgery, NO medical problems, and it’s free !!!
Something to think about huh?
