That image is now stuck in my brain. Thanks, both of you.
The house is cleaned, storage is partially emptied, beer is poured. I’m being a non conformist Mumper and having baked salmon with rice and steamed broccoli.
Nut, yay for moving neighbors! I think my upstairs neighbors have a moshpit in their living room. Of course Gordie signs them the Song of His People, so we’re even.
Congrats on the pickled sausage, BBBobbio. I’ve only pickled liver.
I could do the MMP [Horshack]OOOOO! OOOOO! OOOO![/Horshack]
While out shopping for a new mattress, I received a call from my daughter asking if we were home because she had some good news. Thinking that perhaps she had a job lined up because her other job ended last week, I told her that we were at the mattress store, but that I wanted to hear her news then. She then asked me to put my phone on speaker phone, but I told her, I didn’t know how, but would turn up the volume and hold the receiver between mine and my husband’s head.
My beautiful daughter is getting married! Her boyfriend proposed to her on Friday while down at the coast. I couldn’t be more happy for the both of them, Her sweetie is a good man, takes care of her, and makes her happy. That’s all any parent could want for their child.
Oh, and we bought a new mattress and box spring. I am so looking forward to sleeping in comfort.
Yay for all the good news and giggles! And big** {{{HUGS}}}** for everyone who needs it. And those that don’t.
It’s official: I’ll be heading off home to Idaho to work on Dec. 1st. Trying real hard to bring the pup, just not totally sure he’s quite small enough to be able to stand up in an 8.5 inch carrier, which is Southwest’s limit. As I am trading in a round trip for a one-way, I am going to see if I can maybe just buy him a seat next to me, lol. In a carrier, of course, but then it wouldn’t need to be such exacting measurements. Yeah, he’s a shitzu, but he’s already bigger in every way than the rest of his litter AND his mom, so…it’ll be close. He’s not fat at all, in fact I love his form, he’s a very good-looking doggy. Which is funny, 'cause when we first got him I thought he was the goofiest of the litter; now it turns out he’s the most active and, well…he’s the prettiest! Of course he’s MINE, so that probably helps. Also the only one with a really good haircut, and I think that helps, too.
So for the next few weeks we’ll be packing up and sorting and donating and moving, again. MrTao’s gonna have the harder end of it, of course. I get to visit my family for the longest time in about 15 years, so for me it’s got that added bonus. So I am inheriting the IPad and will learn to use Skype, yay I know we can do this; he’s more worried. So that will be my job too, to make sure he doesn’t get too down.
In the meantime, it’s fricking GORGEOUS OUTSIDE! My perfect weather, nice cool breeze, awesome hammocky-type weather…and I’ll have suffered through this whole crappy summer and be leaving this beautiful weather to go right into the first real winter I’ve dealt with in a decade, ugh. I might actually have to buy a real coat, lol! We’ll see what rummaging around in storage earths up.
Woohoo, Taters!!! How very exciting! I think you were due for some good news.
Yay, Tao!! Yanno, if you get your vet to give your pup some doggy downers, a small crate should be downright cozy! Just a thought…
Pot roast was not one of my better efforts - it was kinda dry, and I’m not sure why. Lots of leftovers, so I’m pretty sure I don’t have to cook tomorrow. Yay!
Off to knit the night away. I await doggio’s efforts breathlessly, so you better make it good!
YP was standin’ around in a black cassock once. I told him he could go right from church to a night of dinin’ and dancin’ simply by adding a string of pearls and a pair of heels. He told me I should apply to teach appropriate dress at a seminary.
Congrats on the job Tao! Here’s hopin’ it won’t be a long time until Mr. Tao and you can be in the same place again.
Soup and beastloaf are done. Soup cooled down enough to put in containers to freeze except for the soup that will be dindin one night. Beastloaf is coolin’ now so’s it can be wrapped and refrigerated. Chikin is also cooled down and has been pulled off the bone and refrigerated along with the broth. I feel like I should have my own show on the Food Network.
Yay, thanks! Turns out pup-pup here is too big for the flight, however. Which is ok; I wanted to bring him for ME; he will be just fine with MrTao because he will essentially just be going home. Since we got him FROM MrTao’s folks, Mouse here will just be living, again, with 3 siblings and his mom, and he will like having them to play with. The cats here just don’t want to play with him like he does, lol.
Been looking for good pics, but don’t have any still other than the one MrTao took ages ago. I have a video of him savaging a dronkey though, lol. Or at least gnawing on it.
We’ve made a deal that MrTao will Skype the animals goodnight to me
Lovely day of cleaning soffits and fascia (brother painted after that) and patching foundation blocks. Had chicken tetrazzini for breakfast and cold pizza for lunch. Am considering what to have for dinner. There’s still some chicken tetrazzini; maybe I’ll finish that off. I guess I could make some oatmeal to complete my backwards meal day.
Has anyone seen Little Mosque on the Prairie? It’s a Canadian series that’s available for free on hulu right now. I just started watching it last night and am amused.
