The two best male singers I have ever heard are the lead singers of Echo and the Bunnymen and the Psychedelic Furs. What I have felt about both of them is that “they could take ANYTHING and make it sound great”
Now, here’s the thing. Which do i think is a better singer? Ian of Echo. why? here’s the twisted logic behind it…
I said they could both sing ANYTHING and make it sound great. Ian proves this, since most of the songs by Echo and the bunnymen are extremely poorly written, but I like them anyway because of the singing.
On the other hand, Psych Furs and Love Spit Love have well-written songs, so Butler doesnt have a chance to prove he can sing ANYTHING.
So, is it right for me to consider Ian the better singer, simply because he can pull off lamer songs? Or should I be pulling for butler to record some lame songs for comparison?
