I get lots of spam (I have a guessable e-mail), and I get a fair amount of gibberish Senders (each different) that all have:
an equals sign, a question mark, then utf-8, then ?q?, then some appended false name. (Spelling it out this way in case it is some magic juju way of making your browser send an acknowledgment. When all else fails, try superstition.)
This ten-digit string also appears at the start of the Subject line, and is followed with a few words. I haven’t yet figured out how to get Earthlink to filter these, since the rest is always different
Does anyone else get this, ie is it a common spammer?
