Sen Craig takes it up the ass!
This just in … although Senator Craig is resigning, he is not gay.

and Franco is still dead.
Nope. The cop explicitly reported that there were other stalls open. So Craig’s behavior was pretty damned incriminating. He could not have successfully argued that.
His report actually says:

That seems to indicate that the stall was occupied, and Craig entered it as soon as the other person left.

Yes, that stall was occupied. The report says “Some, but not all, of the bathroom stalls were occupied.”

There were open stalls, but Craig nonetheless stood outside the police officer’s stall, looking in repeatedly, for some extended period of time while he waited for the adjoining stall to be vacated.

You are correct, however, that they dropped the peeping charge when he pled guilty to the disorderly conduct charge. I had it backwards.

I’d think the state could have won a case on the peeping charge, which is why he pled. When it comes to “he said, he said”, cops tend to win in court. Not to mention the publicity problem for the Senator.

Pardon me for not reading the whole thread, but Craig really screwed the pooch on this one. I mean he alienated his family values constituency by quietly pleading guilty, then alienated any gay sympathy support by screaming ‘I’m NOT gay! I’m not not not, I tell you!’ when the story broke. I think resigning quietly, and hoping for a secret burial, so his grave won’t get violated is his best bet.

I would really hope the days are past when you could have an anti-gay voting record, then get caught and say “okay, you got me, I’m gay and just voted along party lines. They made me!” and still get gay sympathy votes.

This guy of course, doesn’t even have the balls to fess up, and doesn’t deserve anything but a good untreated case of syphilis.

No, no, no. If he screwed the pooch, they would have caught him in the restroom of the animal shelter.

Judging by his behavior, he’s already in the tertiary stage.

CAN syphilis be transmitted M2M? I have no idea.

At lest the ex-senator has had the good sense to hire a decent lawyer

And just how many gay-sympathy votes do you suppose there are in Idaho? :dubious:
Once again, the Republican leadership disowns a good Republican for the sake of future votes. I guess loyalty is not a family value. . . .

Sure, why not?

I think he’s going to have that put on his tombstone, just to make it perfectly clear. I am not gay!!!

That denouement is specifically reserved for ex-Sen. Rick “Man on Dog” Santorum.

…“Jiminy God!”

I guess this means we won’t be hearing the Singing Senators any more…

May just be the tenor of the times. That all their bass are belong to us.

The real one, or my own private one, I’ve been living in?

I imagine there’s some in Eugene, maybe Portland.
