Here is what PPH services are. They include PAP smears and breast examinations. Three percent is abortion.
Has any one asked Cornyn who told him that? Have we reached the upper limit of political bullshit and lies yet?
Or is the next Republican politician going to up the stakes even more, and try to say that 125% of the services Planned Parenthood offers are abortion related? Sort of like how athletes often give 110% during the playoffs?
Huh. You know, that “98 percent of the services they offer to pregnant women are abortion-related services” claim doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny. Maybe 98% of services provided to pregnant women, but OFFERED? What, does a pregnant woman showing up for a prenatal care visit run the risk of being told that the clinic has already used up their two percent quota of non-abortion-related services, and all they can offer her is an abortion?
I don’t think so.
Preferably after setting ground rules that make it clear that a voice in your head does not count as a “source”.
But he said ‘90% of what Planned Parenthood does.’ Not ‘90% of the outgoings of Planned Parenthood.’ You’re right that the spending on abortion is probably more than 3%, but that’s not what he was talking about.
He had his remarks about PPH expunged from the senatorial record. That means he did not say it. The story is over.
And the memory banks of the Christianly Moral have been miraculously wiped of the inference. Praise Jesus!
This is no longer a matter of abortion or even the federal budget; it’s a sign that we have people in very high offices who think they can lie, then tell people that they lied, and that a large part of the population doesn’t seem to mind.
Fortunately, a large part of the population (of which you don’t seem to be a member) understands that while all lies are untruths, not all untruths are lies.
But sadly, a much smaller portion can tell the difference.
On this site, yes.
There are others, then, where such intelligence abounds? Where deep thinkers such as yourself are accorded respect and admiration?

Oh, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent. 14% of people know that.

This is both true and relevant. It seems unlikely to me that Kyl was outright lying. However, it also seems unlikely to me that Kyl intended to tell the truth (in other words, when his office says it wasn’t intended to be a factual statement, I believe them). What’s likeliest is that he has such a cavalier disregard for facts that it never occurred to him that accuracy might be important, so he never stopped to wonder whether his statement might be accurate or not.
This disregard for the truth meant that he couldn’t lie, but it doesn’t speak well for him.
On the contrary, it suggests that nothing he says should be taken at face value.
Magellan, you’re an idiot with no credibility, the only person who will defend you is FinnAgain and thats only when you bash on Muslims.
Its a stupid point.
I don’t know, but I’ve been told…
Barack HUSSEIN Obama is a secret muslim
The truth is still in doubt…
But we damn sure should find out!
Its an old habit of theirs.
Yeah but if he had said that 15% of what planned parenthood does is abortions, I think it would be easy to defend taht statement based on the amount of income they derive from abortions.
*Not intended to be a factual statement.
Ahh, more lies, dishonesty and stupidity from the dishonorable King Douchbag. Well done!
No, it was an obvious point. Or should have been, as it goes to the very definition of the accusation you hurl, you melon head. One that sunk yet another of the stupid rockets that shoot out of your ass and up your spinal cord and exit via your half-formed brain.
Hope that helps clear things up for you. No, don’t mention it.
Nice.
