Senate nominee from Missouri Todd Akin is a feeble-minded moron.

I thought Jack Daniels, Marlboros, and hanging out around staircases was the natural defense against pregnancy.

Not at the parties I go to.

Interesting article that suggests that Akin (and others) might be getting this misinformation from the group Physicians for Life:

It’s not just this guy, it’s the party.

Here’s something I wish would be done routinely when politicians wuss out on interview appointments:

Piers Morgan puts up empty chair after Akin cancels appearance

And, latest polls haven’t moved significantly. “He may be an idiot, but he’s **our **idiot”.

That’s kinda funny Truman. That last poll is from PPP - a Democratic pollster (although one that’s pretty well respected). The Akin +1 is exactly the same as his May number. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they put out a seemingly good poll for him just to convince him to stay in the race…

ETA: And man have there been few polls lately of any races. I guess the recession hurt pollsters too? Although at least we now know that Obama leads in New York by 29 and Romney leads on Oklahoma by 29. So we can keep those off our “in play” board…

Its kind of a close race to begin with and turnout will matter.

Whats your problem with McCaskill?

Not lefty enough. Duh.

Of course, to be ruthlessly fair, if she were, she would have no chance at all, rather than the slim one she has against a total idjit…

In May there were three viable Republican contenders and Akin wasn’t even the favorite. He just won the Republican Primary a couple of weeks ago. Last week he was +10 over McCaskill.

The combover conceals the hole in the top of his head, but the hole in the front of his head does not.

Mike Huckabee shows up to remind us that rape has created great and wonderful people.

We need to declare a no fucking Republican men stance. Any Republican male who continues to defend rape will not be allowed with twenty feet of women, let alone the possibility of having sex with one.

Men need to keep twenty-two feet away, to avoid the extra reach granted by a wide stance.

A bell. They should wear a bell, for the benefit of the blind. Also, those flashy light things that bike riders use, for the deaf. The stupid will just have to deal.

How were the genders apportioned?

Holla.

Watch my left hand. You watching? Okay, pay close attention. Ready?

Now, in 2008, the president ran on a platform of improving the economy and the economy has not significantly improved under his Presidency. He has also not alleviated the continually growing debt. Not to mention, Cynthia McKinney is a bit of a loon and Elizabeth Warren may be a democratic socialist. You feeling sleepy? Good. On the count of three, both sides are bad, so vote Republican.

And Representative Steve King says that he’s never heard of a child getting pregnant from incest or statutory rape.

http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/08/steve-king-statutory-rape.php?ref=fpb

Does he think that such acts don’t occur, or does he believe that a female’s body knows the age of consent for her state and “blocks the pregnancy”?

Shockingly, that is about the 50th most misinformed, ignorant, crazy thing Steve King has ever said.

Didn’t Cole Porter write a song about when you’re near your beloved, you “secrete a certain secretion”?

It’s interesting to watch the Republicans scramble to convince Akin to drop out of the race. “No pressure, Todd, but get the hell out so we have a prayer of beating McCaskill!”

Jesus Hydroponic Christ. These imbeciles really need someone on staff who’s empowered to say “Mike? Todd? It’s quiet time now, okay? No more talking. Ditditditditdit NO. Zip it. Zip. Shh.”

And that goes for Rep. Steve King too. Merciful heavens, the thing that flabbergasts me most about this is that some Pubs are keeping on talking about it as though they imagine they could correct the spin by tweaking the wording a bit.

Guys. No. It was an incredibly stupid and factually unsupported thing to say. Stop jumping on the stupid-and-factually-unsupported bandwagon and just hush up your talking.

Or hell, since I personally am a liberal Democrat and don’t care how much science-allergic Republicans get jeered and mocked, carry on jumping and keep running your mouths. No skin off my mysterious female secretion-secreting body functions.
