Sending dirty text messages... double-check...triple-check...

Oof. How’s this?

My current GF has the same given name as a young lady I lived with last year. Because of an auto-fill oversight, this girl (who has moved back to Germany, gotten married, and just become a new mum,) recently received an e-mail containing a lurid photo of her namesake which I’d polished up in Photoshop until it fairly smoked – along with some frank anatomical observations in the body of the message.

I haven’t spoken to this girl for quite a few months, and spent a couple of days hoping she’d switched providers or summat. “Please bounce please bounce please bounce please bounce!”

It didn’t bounce. :smack:

Mine does too (in fact every phone I’ve had does), but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. In fact, I almost always go to the “in box” and choose an old message from my boyfriend and hit “reply” rather than starting a new message… but I’m still paranoid and double check before hitting send, in case I entered bizarro world and chose a message from the wrong person to reply to…

There is a reason that, while my mother is named “Mom” in my contacts, my father is in there with his first name. Somehow I just don’t want “Dad” and “Dan” that close in my contact list.

I had an email go awry a few weeks ago. See, a friend of mine owns a bar that has bands most weekends. He sent me info about a band playing that Friday. I meant to forward the email to my SO, with text added atop the original message about how we could do some “dirty” dancing (the music’s genre was “soul”). My message got pretty steamy.

Well, instead of forwarding the message I somehow hit reply. So John got the message meant for Kim. And he will never let me forget it. When he saw us that Friday night, he laughed so hard he was crying.

I’ve mistakenly sent them via online instant message but never via text. It actually surprises me that I haven’t because when I’m texting things like that, I’m intoxicated.

As a sidenote - thanks to OpalCat. This thread has brought back many good memories. Perhaps some to be repeated this evening.
