To be fair Senor Beef has not actually been making the threads lately and they’ve been missing his very detailed rules.
That’s not really relevant. I mean, yeah, I’ve been busy lately and missed making a few threads, but everyone knows what the rules are by now, especially dipshit. The fact that he’s trying to say “beef didn’t start the thread this time, his exact rules don’t apply!” is exactly the sort of weasel bullshit that justifies the zero tolerance stance in those threads.

I’m writing a short story about a man named “Mister Carnavaca” who is obsessed with avoiding movie and television spoilers. For unexamined reasons, he begins to conflate the future with the present. Soon he begins lashing out at his friends and associates, because their every word and gesture is something he hasn’t seen before and isn’t ready to see yet.
I won’t spoil the ending, but it will available in mid-June for e-download* for $12.99 from a vanity press website yet to be named. About two weeks after that it’ll be free.

You know what’s funny? You snarktards all associate me singularly with some obsessive need to avoid spoilers, and it’s not a particularly big concern of mine. I mean, yes, I legitimately would like to avoid them for GOT, but the reason I’m associated with the issue so much is because I took proactive steps towards solving the problem of the horrible trainwrecks of those threads. It was a public service - we went from really shitty discussions to really good ones. Yeah, mock me for that, idiots.

And because I know someone is going to try it: I’m just posting my honest opinion and not trying to stir up shit over there. That was just a side benefit. I am not in violation of the rule against trying to start a board war. And this is the Pit, where it’s not trolling if you are offering your sincerely held opinion.

It really is weird to pretend that SenorBeef is the only one who wanted those rules in place. There were a lot of us who did, as evidenced by the fact that the no spoilers threads remained so successful.
Don’t try to steal my credit. This is a one man quest against knowledge. I have crippled the entire SDMB, ruined its good name with censorship, and eventually, if I get my way, no one will ever crack a book open again.

Seriously, as someone who really appreciates the spoiler-free GOT threads, thank you SenorBeef. You have to take the brunt of the mockery, and you do it with grace and style. Speaking on behalf of all us illiterates, thank you.
