My 4 1/2 year old has begun to complain about his teeth hurting when he eats something cold, such as yogurt, watermelon, milk, soda, and cold water. He said it doesn’t bother him when he brushes, and it doesn’t seem to bother him when he chews bubblegum, or eats food that isn’t cold.
He doesn’t show any signs of cavities (IANAD), and I would imagine he is too young for wisdom teeth or anything like that.
Is there something else I should be looking for? Is there a sensitive teeth toothpaste that is available for children? What could be causing it? This complaint has come on within the last week.
We are scheduling a dentist appointment for him, but I would appreciate any thoughts or advice in the meantime. Thanks
