Can’t say I’ve watched a lot of porn over the years, one of the reasons being the “actors” engage in immediate congress without any foreplay or credible story line. Its sexual connection by the numbers.
Andrew Blake, so I’m told… His name always shows up as a director of “couples porn.” I find porn more or less kind of boring. At least after ten or fifteen minutes.
+1 for Femme Productions - they specialize in tender, romantic, couples films that still have X rated content. They include insertion shots.
One of their best titles is Three Daughters. Which involves, You guessed it three sisters and their relationships with men. The youngest is a young adult that is having her first sexual encounter. It was shot back in the 80’s and a very good erotic film.
IIRC Three Daughters comes in a Late Night Cable version and a full on X-Rated version.
There’s also a photo web site called grace and beauty. I’ve seen photos from there and they do a lot of soft porn shots that attempt to be what the Studio’s name implies.
YYMV, but I appreciated the few shots that a friend showed me years ago. I don’t know if there’s any images of men on that site. The images I saw were studies of the female form. A very nice female form.
Thnak you for this thread! I hope more people answer. I have the same problem as you do; they get down to brass tacks so quick and you know, the actual act of sex gets kind of boring.
Not quite in the same vein, but X-Art (not linking for obvious reasons, but pretty easy to figure out the URL) has what I would call “classy” porn.
They are great with the lighting, camera work, etc… and while there isn’t a story, there is usually a good deal of foreplay before just getting to it…and when they finally do, it looks nice. No nasty-ass shots from right behind and below the man’s ass (seriously, who likes that shot?!), the actors seem really “in” to each other, like they were areal couple, etc…
If you like girl/girl, then AbbyWinters is worth a look. Abby is a poster here and I think she had an “Ask the…” thread. I believe the girls are usually couples and it’s quite intimate and tasteful.
I heartily second **Abby Winters **, especially the archives with the Australian stuff, I think the site has done a bit of a shark jump in recent times since it moved shop to Amsterdam.
If you’re into that kind of thing, also see IFeelMyself, still operating from Australia, as far as I can tell. **Girls Out West **might also be worth a look. All in all, Australian porn has a certain flavor all its own.
Elsewhere, **Hegre Art **has its moments, especially the massage videos.
(I’m posting no links, of course, as this stuff is NSFW as all get out.)
Er… of course, not that I would know about any of these things.
Would (do) you watch an otherwise conventional movie with hardcore sex scenes?
The market question is a bit more complicated than some say it is; sure the existing market for porn probably doesn’t have much patience for preliminaries and nuance, but that doesn’t mean such an market doesn’t potentially exist. Chicken and egg.
Thanks for reminding me. I read that by about the year 2000 pornography had become mainstream and publicly acceptable. Couples now walked into video stores and rented XXX without embarrassment. Stars like Jenna Jamieson had regular TV shows.
Furthermore women openly expressed their dislike of the hard-core films and wanted more sensual erotic choices. However if you conduct a google search (so I’m told ;)) the sites and movie results are exclusively hard-core which rather suggests that is still 98% of the market.
I did the web design, early video camera and editing, and a whole bunch more, on Abbywinters.com, as well as a few minor things on the earliest stages of IShotMyself and Girls Out West (each of which are made my different separate companies).
Many of my aesthetic or creative ideas, though sometimes tertiary or tangential, became central to the Abby Winters paradigm. So I think I helped shape what our style evolved into, at least for a while anyway.
I left long before the recent site redesign and the shift to Amsterdam.
