September SDMB Weight Loss Thread

These have sort of petered out, but I’m going to start a new one, well, because. I think we do better when we have others cheering us on.

I will put in my plug for Sparkpeople.com…we have an SDMB team over there, so come join us!

No one? :frowning:

What?

Um. I’ve lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Go me?

34.2 pounds since April 7 (on the record; a few more since my last weigh-in). Weight Watchers. About 35 to go. Yay me!

I have been in the UK since last Sat and alas, no doubt I have gained a little. We go down to the pub for a couple pints every night…

Yay wieredaaron and Scarlett! Monday will be my one year anniversary of reaching my goal weight. I think I can breathe easy now…it’s stayed off, so obviously I know what to do!

I am starting over for the umpteenth time. Fortunately, I don’t go over a certain weight no matter how bad I am but that extra 25 pounds is still too much for someone with my frame.

I bought a bunch of fresh vegetables to start off September. I found a diet drink I love, Sobe Lifewater Zero, fugi apple pear is the best! I just need to get back to exercising.

Well, it’s been interesting, I will say that.

I gained some weight on my vacation (2 pounds.) This is the first week since vacation that I’ve been consistent with both nutrition AND exercise… I’ve been working my little buns off with whatever physical activity I can.

My stats are unchanged from last week and I am feeling ill, so I can’t say this is the best day to report on my progress. But I’ve noticed a definite change in the appearance of my body and my cardiovascular capacity. I am hoping to use exercise to help me cope with the exorbitant amount of stress I am about to take on as a grad student.

I’ve also been maintaining a 50 pound weight loss for about 8 months now, so there’s that.

I plan to continue with the nutrition and exercise and hopefully I will see good results soon.

ETA: For anyone wishing to look into SparkPeople, my username is RacingSlug. I credit their community with a great deal of my success.

I lost a couple pounds just from cutting out junk and sugary drinks, thanks to Sobe Lifewater Zero. I have a scrub top that usually feels tight but it felt loose tonight, so with my luck I probably lost those pounds from my boobs.

AH-HA! I wondered about this!

I’m still at it, although I haven’t been as active on SparkPeople as I should have been. I’ve lost 16 pounds total since start, and when I began, I was 398 pounds. I’ve had a lot of weird things happen recently that has kept that number down, but I have not regained anything.

Two weeks ago, hubby and I went shopping. We hit just about every major store in our little town, and not once did I get an electric buggy. I was running circles around him. I haven’t had that much fun in a very long time.

We have our Diabetes Walk coming up on October 4, and I hope to walk the entire three miles: but I will be happy with one, since that’s more than I could do last year. Our daughter gets to help cut the ribbon to start the walk: they let all their type 1 kids do that every year. She’s looking forward to it!

I’m doing great, mostly maintaining with some slow loss. I’ve lost a total of 95 pounds since last April, so I’m pretty happy, though my goal is about 7 pounds away. It’s an arbitrary number, selected only for the zero at the end, but I don’t want to switch my Sparkpeople over to maintenance just yet because I’m afraid I’ll allow myself to eat on the high end. I’ve noticed lately an increase in hunger, which I’m observing carefully.

I’ve recently added 2-3 days of about 30 minutes of swimming to my 3-4 60 minute runs a weeks, so that’s exciting. My (brand new) husband has joined the Y and we are swimming together. It’s so fun!
