How would you contrast the various service clubs in the US, like Rotary, Masons, Lions, Elks, Jaycees, Kiwanis, etc.? What are their strengths and weaknesses? Raison d’être?
Why do you belong to the one(s) you do, if you do, or which one(s) would you join if you wanted to?
I also see some similarity between the service clubs I know about and such groups as Nichiren Shoshu (Buddhist, chanting), at least in the motivation & social concepts. Not to mention some parallels with mainstream religions. I would be interested in others’ opinions on this observation.
