Happened to me two days ago. Guy with a tow truck came, but he charged only CAD65.
Seems fair enough.
I googled then called what I thought was a local tow company, but I wasn’t familiar with them personally. The call was answered with, “City-name Towing”, he took down details, repeated them back, I had to correct the make and model. 
. Next the call was transferred to a guy with a heavy accent and the connection was poor, supposedly they are 5 miles away but he quote $250!
That was suspicious imo.
Fuhgeddaboudit!
