Ok, this is a dual purpose thread. First off, it’s an attempt to attract new members to the SETI@Home Project, and specifically to Team Straight Dopers.
For those who opened up this thread wondering what the hell SETI@Home is, this is from the home page:
"SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers in the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). You can participate by running a free program that downloads and analyzes radio telescope data."
Secondly, in an effort to keep people interested, I am considering publishing stats on a regular basis. What I put together tonight are weekly stats from 7/19 to 7/26 sorted by number of units processed during that time period. Depending on interest, I would consider doing this regularly on a weekly or even daily basis.
If you are already a member, or are planning to join the team, please let me know if this would interest you or not. Also, any feedback on layout, additional stats you may like to see or anything else is appreciated.
