Well, as is pointed out in the song, (maybe not verbatim, here)
“The women, they all acted annoyed.”
“But, secretly, they were overjoyed!”
So, it’s all right, you see!!
P.S.
That was Julie Newmar in the role of Dorcas.
Yowzah!

She was hot there, but she was never, EVER hotter than as Stupefyin’ Jones in the musical [url="Yahoo | Mail, Weather, Search, Politics, News, Finance, Sports & Videos"L’il Abner (and yes, I’d put her Catwoman second to her Jones.
)
(fixed your link) (and damn, she did have some legs, didn’t she?)
L’il Abner was also choreographed by Michael Kidd, who did 7B7B – actually, I added it to my Netflix queue only yesterday, for that very reason.
Yes, my computer rebooted unexpectedly, and I thought I’d lost the whole post.
Given a choice between hilarious or depressing, I’d pick depressing for this story.
I didn’t bother to check what actually got posted, which was an incomplete thought–I’d meant to say that the commentary on the musicals was interesting. I’d also meant to comment on the costumes–Millie had several dresses which looked like quilts, and I love the improbably rainbow colored shirts that the brothers wear to the barn raising. I also was going to compare the seasons changing to two children’s classics (using the terms loosely) which I have recently watched with my nieces --one of which used real seasons and one of which faked things more obviously than this movie did–what can I say, it’s a Barney video.
But now my internet time is almost up, and I’ve lost track of what I’d intended to write.
Apparently the costumer went around to thrift stores and bought up old quilts to make costumes out of – not only for Milly but also for the other girls (check out the birth scene).
