Seven Waters Trilogy

has anyone else read this (don’t spoil if for me!)? I am just about to start book 2, Son of the Shadows . I did a search but the site discounted seven entirely and I got reams of info re water and trilogy.
:smack: Probably should have searched for the author’s name…duh. Sorry.

These books are by Juliet Marillier.

It took me some time to get immersed into book one (about 100 pages) but once there, I really enjoyed it.

The trilogy is based on an Irish legend (fairy tale?) about seven swans(brothers) and their sister, Sorcha. They suffer an enchantment and Sorcha must weave shirts for all seven from a barbed plant. Marillier creates a world, much like Eragorn (no dragons, though)–very well thought out, interesting, believable characters and plot developement.

Looks like book 2 is about Sorcha’s children. Thoughts?

I enjoyed the first one. (As a matter of fact, someone on the SDMB sent it to me.)

I bought and began the second; it got off to a slow start, and I lost interest, misplaced it before I came back to it, and consequently never finished it, so I can’t say much about it.

Perhaps I’ll go look for it again and read it this time.
