maybe most, but not all. i’m allowed to surf from work, even for personal use. i am NOT allowed to surf porn, though.
Mrs. Nott’s ex-boss once received an e-mail with an audio attachment. When opened, it said, at high volume, “HEY, EVERYBODY! I’M LOOKIN’ AT PORNO!” He forwarded the attachment to a salesman he knew, who happened to open it while waiting to see a client!
“Aural sex, obviously.”
It cures deafness, I heard.
Good one, handy!
FWIW, I always apply the “2 clicks and them some” rule to anything I consider might be a problem. First, don’t post a link that you’ve found on a search engine until you’ve visited the site yourself (this seems to cause more grief than anything else here), that way you’ll know if there’s porn, pop-ups or exit pop-ups. Second, be aware that not every person on this board wants to be confronted with explicit graphic images of sex and/or violence - do post a warning even if you think the domain name is self-explanatory. And third, if you just aren’t sure, email a mod asking them to check out the link before you post it.
reprise, thats a nice solution. What happens in the future if they change the content of the page that it is linked to? You know, maybe they put some porno on it later. In which case the URL would be fine at first but not later.
We’ve had that problem in the past.
When we find a porn link, we remove it. No onus on the original poster, they made the link in good faith.
