Shadenfreude- I has it. Former DA gets prison time

The DA who I faced for 16 years, and who I always believed to be morally challenged, was sentenced to prison today for stealing county funds. Story here:

I would wish prison on very few people- however, he was very callous on dealing with my clients. He didn’t have a lot of sympathy for people with substance abuse problems- then he gets into court and plays the addict card. Can’t say I feel too bad. It was a blind plea, which means that there was no plea bargain and the sentence was totally up to the judge.

When the character witnesses can’t think of anything better than “He had gambling problems, and drank a lot.” you got to figure the guy is a bum.

Tris

Did he always look that mephistophelian?

Well, katie1341, this is something we don’t often get to savor – a hypocrite receiving poetic justice. That’s what shadenfreude was invented for!

And who knows, maybe in prison he’ll actually learn something, and become a better person. (not likely, but one can hope.)

I always thought he looked like Papa Smurf.

Gotta love this:

Perry talks about a continuous crime as if it was… a bout-of-the-moment attack of The Shoplifting or some such.
