Shadowmancer Redeux

I’ve been reading several articles about the book (series?) “Shadowmancer”, from Britian (of course). As far as I can tell, it’s a “Christianized” version of Harry Potter, but haven’t been able to deduce how good the story actually is. Has any doper here read it, and could give me a general idea of the quality? With literature that is self-consciously Christian (as opposed to just Christian themes like you might find in LotR), that can be tricky as it tends to taint the reviews in different ways.

Thanks!

This is also a thread on it. I haven’t read it yet. All the relevant comments I’ve read shows the author-Anglican vicar as having no anti-Potter agenda but wanting to write something similar in which Theistic belief mattered. Also, comments have indicated that it’s not Christian-specific, but can be happily read by Jews & Muslims also.
