Shadows of Paris singer

In the Peter Sellers movie “A Shot in the Dark” the song Shadows of Paris is sung during the opening scene. The singer is female, but is not listed in the credits or on IMDB (as far as I can tell…).

Anyone know who this might have been?

I’ve found soundtracks of this movie and Henry Mancini compilations that include the song, but the singer is invariably male.

Thanks,

Ook.

Apparently the correct title is “The Shadow of Paris.” I found no clue as to who might have sung it. One possibility is Edith Piaf , a well-known French songstress.

Interesting question. I just watched the opening credits and the trailing cast credits and there is no clue as to the singer. The music was by Henry Mancini and the lyrics by Robert Wells. The singer is definitely NOT Edith Piaf. I have most of her songs and there is no similarity at all. I’ll try to check further on this somehow.

Sice this is about the “Arts” let’s move it to Cafe Society. Some pretty good movie people over there.

Thanks Ignatz! I had my doubts about it being Edith Piaf. She most likely would have been credited, especially posthumously.
