Written by Paul Abbott - it’s a COMEDY series about a single alcoholic dad and his six kids on a sink estate in Manchester.
Last weeks episode about a child abduction was the most satisfying hour of television I can remember.
It’s on Channel Four - so BBC America wont be taking it.
Brits back me up - it’s had gay interracial sex, car jacking, fake marriage, abduction, blowjobs in exchange for homework, hetero anal dildos and the funniest Gollum joke Ive seen. And its only 4 episodes old yet!

BBC America often carry programmes made by other companies, including Channel 4. It sometimes causes confusion on the SDMB among people who assume that the BBC is the only TV station in this country.

I haven’t seen enough of Shameless to hold a strong opinion about it.
