Can I ask a small question? Why have a desktop wallpaper thingy at all?

For me, if I’m on the computer I’m either working or trundling about the net. When doing either I can’t see my wallpaper. I ‘think’ mine is a bananna leaf but I see it so seldom it matters not a jot.

Unless you are just looking at your computer while it does nothing why does it matter?

Because when I close things down, being old and having forgotten what’s on there, I get a nice happy surprise when I see the baby picture or animal or rainbows. :stuck_out_tongue:

In my defence I’m sure he doesn’t have my picture on his compute either!

This. I like it because a month from today, I will see that exact scene. (Different time of day, though.)

Mine is this picture I took of Chicago in winter. To get a larger size, click on “ALL SIZES”. I have other similar pictures taken at the same time in this set, but (IMHO) the yellow-toned one is the best.

My current wallpaper is a friend’s shot of a canada goose and her goslings, which I’m not going to link to.

A lot of those sky and space photos seem so pedestrian boring.
I always want something new, different from last week, and perhaps silly.

I made a wallpaper out of pictures of bacon and it was such a hit at work that I had to make another one.

I don’t know where to begin, but that is true genius right there.

When I get it together, I’ll have to make another one. I have coworkers who walk up to me and ask where the bacon went.

I even have a bacon flowchart that I’ll throw in.

I like playing “photographer” in World of Warcraft. When I see a bit of terrain combined with the right lighting (which changes all the time in the game), or an NPC that I like, I’ll fiddle with the in-game “camera” angles until I can frame a nice dramatic shot and then take a screenshot. And so I’ve been using these as my wallpapers for a few months.
