For some reason, I initially mis-read this as “faulty colleague.” Which, given the context, actually makes sense.

It’ll also increase your risk of celllphone-related brain cancer, since those Bluetooth radio waves will have even more chance of damaging you - it won’t be just your own phone that’s attacking you, but every other phone within 30 feet!

Yeah, that’s about right. Oh, and apparently she was in another faculty’s office and wouldn’t wear a mask. The other faculty is royally pissed.

Meanwhile, I taught four labs this week. All my students in the first three classes wore masks. This morning’s class, I ask politely for a couple of guys to wear a mask and even offer surgical masks we have in front. They refused. I even reminded them about my father. Smirked at each other. I guess the idea of my father getting covid was funny to them. Ha ha.

I think we’ve discovered the cause of Havana Syndrome!

Genius!!!

When do we get our shared Nobel? (or, in this case, Ig-Nobel)

So an anti-vaxx friend(ish–haven’t talked with her in almost 2 years) called today. I heard about how really nice people were at the anti-vaxx rally awhile back. I asked if these nice people were wearing masks. Crickets.

Even worse, her son, who’s also anti-vaxx, is in a pharmacology program at a state university. He works part-time in the pharmacy of a major drug store chain. (The one at the corner of Hale and Joyous.) A couple months ago, the son got COVID and had a 102º temp. Management ordered him to come in anyway because they were short-staffed due to many employees out with COVID. He was not able to finish out the day.

Sometimes I wonder how the species survives.

Excerpts from an online posting from someone who believes Covid vaccine-caused deaths are up markedly (but the news is being suppressed):

“In early October, during an 8 day period, I was notified that 3 of my clients had passed away. I got suspicious and called a local funeral home. She said they were “swamped”…”

“My wife and I went snorkeling in the Carribean last July. A 43 year old man went missing. We found his body. He had died of a sudden heart attack and drifted off about 150 yards from the tour boat. I am in my early 50’s and I’ve never seen anyone die of a heart attack right in front of me before. The crew also said they had never seen it happen. We stalked his social media and he had taken the injections 29 days prior.”…
It seems like I am hearing more ambulance sirens than ever before at my home in Texas."

Seems like incontrovertible evidence to me.

Or maybe this guy is sending out death waves that kill everyone within a certain radius.

Oh Jesus…er… that’s Doctor Jesus to you. This article… <shakes head>

Talk about weepin’ an’ a-wailin’

This one is a real mind-blower:

Sigh. The same person who wails about her hospital bills is probably STRONGLY against The Eeeevul Socialized Medicine.

I read an article today in the NYTimes about “Red COVID”.- the gap in deaths between Republican-leaning counties and Democrat-leaning. It’s quite sobering.

Friend mentioned his son’s friend’s father is on week 3 of being unable to work due to Covid. Yep, the father isn’t vaccinated. In fact, he home-schooled his son (13 or 14, I think) for more than 6 months because of the mask mandate.

And on Wednesday, the president of Switzerland announced that almost all Covid restrictions are lifted, as of Wednesday evening at midnight.

He celebrated the lifting of restrictions by testing positive.

Paywalled. What does it say?

Jeez, just subscribe for all the latest Swiss news.

I came across this today (highlighted paragraph especially).

Beware of the black semis!

Klassen was recently brought up in the Pit’s maskholes and vaxholes thread; I posted the following over there:

https://westernstandardonline.com/2022/02/manitoba-trucker-fights-for-freedom-to-see-dying-9-year-old-daughter/

Klassen said Sophia was born with special needs and has required assistance all her life. She has been in palliative care at St. Amant for more than five years.

“Sophia doesn’t communicate verbally,” said Klassen, adding, “she communicates through physical touch and cuddling and gets very upset if we can’t hold her when we visit.”

Klassen said his wife was able to see her occasionally but was also restricted due to her vaccination status. He said the visitation pods did not allow them to physically connect with Sophia which upset their daughter a great deal.

Pretty much what I said when I linked. There is a strong link between political voting history in a county, and the rate of COVID deaths: specifically, Republican-leaning counties have higher death rates overall.

I haven’t reread the article since I first posted it, but I believe that they said that early on, Democrat-leaning counties had higher infection rates, largely because those areas had higher numbers of travellers passing through (think, New York etc.).

So he feels that his right to endanger his daughter outweighs his duty to protect her. Nice to know he loves her to death.

…endanger his daughter and all the other vulnerable patients.

Australia’s biggest (literally) and richest anti-vaxxer is carted off to hospital with flu-like - no, covid-like - symptoms

Thoughts and prayers - maybe not the ones you’d usually express.
