Well, Walmart did it

Masks are required in all Walmart stores and Sam’s.

We’re saved by the people of Walmart.
:persevere::roll_eyes:

I live in Springdale (a few miles south). My local WM had about 60% mask wearers. I did see an anti-mask T-shirt at my local Sam’s.

You mean the ones who can’t even dress themselves?

Prediction: A lot of Walmart shoppers switch to other stores or to pickup / delivery and a lot of fights at the front door posted to social media.

Prediction, they will train and hire security by Monday to deal with non-mask wearing customers. If they refuse to leave they can have them arrested for trespassing. And I see Krogers is doing the same thing. Costco already does this and after a few initial incidences you don’t hear about the anti-maskers trying to get in.

The only choices alot of town have is going to the dollar store or driving 30 miles to another town that most likely has a Walmart and dollar stores. Many Walmart shoppers either can’t afford delivery or don’t have internet knowledge or availability to utilize those services.

One article about the Walmart door greeters are calling them “health ambassadors”. My town has a mandate, and Walmart has people at the outer door checking people, so you can’t even get in the door without a mask. That would prevent someone getting inside the door and refusing to leave.

Maybe the greeters should have a supply of free Walmart-branded face masks to give out, like the coats and ties that fancy restaurants used to have in the back closet for patrons who had issues with following the dress code.

The article in the Times said that Sams will give out facemasks, but Walmart hasn’t said they will. Could get expensive.
And I hope the health ambassadors are bruisers.

It’s not uncommon for the elderly to bruise easily.

As of Monday (7/14), SuperWM in Clarkston Washington is doing exactly that.

Just give them spray bottles to go around spraying foul-smelling mist at unmasked people.

So they can wear a mask. Problem solved.

WTF is the problem here? No rights violation as I can see, what you wear in public has been regulated to death by states since Noah got off the ark. Private property, the owner can deny access to those who he or she or it wishes in the US. People fought and died for that last right of property owners having such freedom, no one has ever fought and died for the right not to wear a mask. The closest one can come to that is if for a medical reason one can not, you can thank hippies and liberals fighting for that right as long as a business can make reasonable accommodations for that.

There is no right nor has there ever been a right not to wear a mask, get over yourself to get over it. In most states you also need to wear something to cover your genitalia, reset with the realization of what is and do the right thing and cover you breath and your lower parts as well.

They are getting stricter yet.

Here in Ontario masks are now mandatory in all indoor public spaces. I’d forgotten about it, but put on my mask as normal when at the liquor store yesterday. On my way out I saw a woman without a mask being politely escorted out as she entered. As I was getting in the car, I saw a burly fearsome-looking guy without a mask walking towards the entrance. I waited to see how long he would be inside. I timed it at roughly about seven seconds.

In another story, a gentleman attempted to enter a store without a mask, and was prohibited from doing so by a store employee who must have been of some racial minority, because the gentleman in question began to hurl racial epithets. The police were called and he left before they arrived, but later turned himself in when he learned there was a warrant for his arrest, and was charged with creating a disturbance.

Maybe every single municipality has done it but there isn’t a provincial rule.

I’m betting the Walmart shoppers will pull their masks down over their chins as soon as they get past the greeter.

I would like a law where we are allowed to punch chin-mask wearers in the face with impunity.

Went to Walmart this afternoon. Large banner outside said all employees must wear masks, and all shoppers except those medically exempted must wear masks.
