There is this peculiar wife and husband that I am acquainted with from work. I was talking to the woman the other day, and I noticed her voice was somewhat hoarse. I told her, “I hope your voice gets better soon.” She told me, “Oh, that’s from the trach. I was in the hospital for 42 days with Covid.” I said, “Did you get vaccinated?” She said no. I gently shook my finger at her. And she told me, “Oh that doesn’t always work.” All I could think was, well it might have been worth giving it a shot so to pass up a trach and 42 days in the hospital. I guess I’m just crazy that way.
I was discussing it with one of my co-workers who observed that this woman probably still hadn’t been vaccinated and that this woman’s husband would probably kill her (not literally) if she did get vaccinated.
What is particularly disturbing to me is that this woman is a home health aid. She helps elderly and disabled people with showers, other hygiene issues, and light housekeeping. She goes into their homes and is physically hands on with them and their environment. That is just negligent and irresponsible.
I wonder if the people who welcome her into their homes know that she is a walking virus vector? I wonder if she infected some fragile person with her disregard for her health and theirs?
And the word is we’re to be sealed in through Friday this week. We’ll be sprung from lock-down if all the nucleic acid testing samples from us this morning, Wednesday, and Friday test negative.
@Sylvanz Like you, I would have serious concerns with a health care outfit that sends that particular person into the homes of vulnerable people.
They may not have a choice. My brother lost his job as a firefighter/emt because he refused to get vaccinated. They he successfully sued and got his job back.
A long-time friend / acquaintance (we’ve drifted apart) caught COVID - and she’s a home health aid as well. She was, of course, not vaccinated.
If I were her employer, I’d FIRE HER SORRY ASS.
So when you’re “sealed in”, what do you do about food etc. if you don’t have enough at home to last? Are you permitted to have deliveries? What if you need urgent medical care?
You might consider starting an “Ask the” thread, about your experiences in China during COVID and with the “zero COVID” policy.
I’m puzzled that that people who scream about gazillions of lives being lost because public health officials discouraged ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine use against Covid-19, at the same time are so furious about lockdowns and mask and vaccine mandates that they want a new round of Nuremberg trials.
Make up your minds - either the pandemic is a hoax, or it’s a terrible calamity mishandled by your enemies. You can’t have it both ways.
You can, actually. When you believe that “they” are out to get you, and “they” want to restrict your liberty as an explicit goal, and “they” believe the world is overpopulated, it’s a very small step to “‘they’ intentionally suppressed a simple and cheap cure and pushed ineffective liberty restrictions instead” because that would meet all the goals you believe “they” have.
Disregarding the sanity of believing “they” have to power to do any of that, these are not inherently incompatible beliefs.
