The website for the movie Donnie Darko is pretty good for one-time time wasting, or multiple times (it’s been a couple years since I went through it, and I don’t really remember anymore). Also, the website for Requiem for a Dream is interesting and bizarre.

On that note, nothing wastes time more pointlessly than filks, especially ones that marry H.P. Lovecraft with Abba. That’s just wrong on so many levels.

I sort of thought the point of posting them was that they would get checked out. As I understand it, some Mod has to check out every pointless and mundane post in every pointless and mundane thread on this pointless and mundane forum.

I imagined that collecting links like this into a single thread would make a mods job easier. I wanted to share several links but I didn’t want to start 6 threads. Eutychus made it pretty clear that this sucks from his end, and I can understand that.

Sure wolf_meister. Each link has it’s own merit. Why would having 12 links in a row diminish the value of any one of them? I don’t follow your logic there. I will say that a link with no reference to what it is about is not very useful. A short description next to the link can save a lot of people who would not be interested from having to visit a site to just find that out.
As for why the mods have to check each link? They are checking to make sure that the links don’t lead to porn or other sites which violate the board rules.
In the other thread mentioned above, the problem was that there were literally hundreds of links posted. Some of the people were posting the entire contents of their favorites folder and the mod simply pointed out that this was overkill. I imagine posting a few links here and there is no problem at all. Posting 40 or 50 in one post on the other hand, is a complete pain in the ass for the mods to check.
I wish a mod would chime in here and state exactly how they feel about a more reasonably sized group of links such as this one. I don’t want to create unnecessary hardship for them, on the other hand, I have found some great new sites through this thread so I feel it may have served some value to the community. I guess comes down to a bit of a balancing act to keep everyone happy.
