Someone named Traylor Howard has been cast as Adrian Monk’s new assistant. Here’s USA’s press release.
::sigh:: I’ll miss Sharona, who played off the Monk character extremely well. However, I’m relieved that the new assistant isn’t that obnoxious nurse friend of Sharona’s, nor that nerdy upstairs neighbor of Monk’s. But whotheheck is Traylor Howard? I’m off to IMDB to see if there’s a picture of her.
I remember her from the show Boston Common - I think she’s kind of cute and clever. But she has some big shoes to fill, that’s for sure.
I can kind of see that working. But let’s wait and see. Sharona was half the show.
I’m torn.
I’ve hated Traylor Howard in everything I’ve ever seen her in, and actually gone out of my way not to watch shows just because she was in them. She’s awful.
But, I really like Monk.
I always wanted Monk to ask Sharona why she was crying. And then tell her that there was no crying in detective work. No crying.
She played the Girl in “Two guys, a girl, and a pizza place”. I really liked that show so I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. I’ll miss Sharona though.
When does the new season start? Or did it already?
What’s the name of the actress that plays Sharona? And what’s she going on to? It will be tough to replicate the chemistry between those two.
ShibbOleth, the actress’ name is Bitty Shram (yes, Bitty, not Betty, although I’m uincertain of the spelling of her last name!). I will also miss Sharona although perhaps the new nurse/caretaker position will give Monk more to play off of. JMHO.
Did Bitty?Sharonna leave voluntarily? or was she simply replaced?
The official word is that Bitty left over a salary disagreement.
We should see new episodes starting in January. “Monk” ran a split season laft year - 10 eps from June to August and seven eps from January to March.
