Sharyl Attkisson and Slanted Journalism

A Trumper friend asked me to check out Leo Terrell as an example of a level headed dem. Terrell is a black democrat and pro Trump, from what I could gather. I did a limited dive on Terrell as most of the Youtube content was him just debating/yelling at another talking head. I then stumbled across Attkison giving a talk on slanted journalism at some sort of conservative conference. She listed may examples of biased reporting or spins being placed on Trump-related stories by CNN, MSNBC and others. I can’t say she was wrong with her allegations. However, she did not reference any of the right wing outlets (I admit I didn’t watch the whole thing so there’s that) and they spin/bias they have. The crowd ate it up. Are these people so thick that they don’t see hypocrisy staring them right in the face? Is she always this biased or was just the audience she was playing to? I never heard of her or Terrell before…

I don’t know much about Attkisson, but I do know she works for the Sinclair Broadcasting Group. And they’ve been playing to the right for some time. And coming down hard on the left is their stock in trade.

Hadn’t heard of her before, but from googling she appears to be a standard issue professional corporate right-winger, similar to the dozens of Fox News talking heads that get paid to spread right wing nonsense.

She is, what we used to call, a nut case,

Computer hacking allegations

In May 2013, while still employed by CBS, Attkisson alleged that her personal and work computers had been “compromised” for more than two years. CBS News stated that it had investigated her work computer and found evidence of multiple unauthorized accesses by a third party in late 2012. The U.S. Department of Justice denied any involvement. In her 2014 book, she wrote that a forensic examination revealed that her personal computer was hacked with keystroke logging spyware, enabling an intruder to read all her e-mail messages and gain access to the passwords for her financial accounts.

In late January 2015, Attkisson appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee during a confirmation hearing for Loretta Lynch, President Obama’s nominee to replace outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder. As part of her appearance in front of that committee, a report by the Office of Inspector General (OIG) was released stating that “their investigation was not able to substantiate… allegations that Attkisson’s computers were subject to remote intrusions by the FBI, other government personnel, or otherwise” and the deletion seen in Attkisson’s video “appeared to be caused by the backspace key being stuck, rather than a remote intrusion”.

In what sense is a Trump supporter a Democrat?

In the sense that they are registered as a Democrat.

Terell’$ rea$on$ for hi$ $witch the Republican Party are bizarre to $ay the lea$t,

Is your friend’s definition of “level headed dem” simply: someone who voted for Trump? Does your friend have an example of a level headed dem who didn’t vote for Trump?

Yes and no, respectively. I think the idea that a black(!) dem would support Trump is supposed to be prima facia evidence that Trump is/was a fine person to hold the office. Said friend tells me I need to stop watching CNN and touts Newsmax as honest reporting.
