I know I do not post a lot but I was just so excited I felt the need to post.
I found out my daughter passed her GED today. My home phone is on the fritz but the answer machine picked up and there was a message from the GED testing instructor that her test results were in and posted on her GED account.
I had the login and password at work when she got the application approved. I was working from home today so I emailed a friend at work and had her rummage my desk looking for the sticky with the info on it.
I logged in and she passed with flying colors. I wanted to look first just in case she did not pass I could be ready for her to be upset but I knew she could do it. She got 100% on the Social Studies which is the one subject she was never that interested in, go figure.
She does not know yet as she works until six. I am not going to tell her I know. When she gets home I am just going to tell her the instructor called and left a message and to log in and see what the results are.
I am so proud of her. She has been homeschooled since the second semester of seventh grade and now she is an entire school year ahead. She worked hard and studied hard and it paid off.
She is still not sure what she wants to do with her life or what sort of career she wants but now we have passed this hurdle we can look into career counciling and she can look forward to her future.
My son (who was homeschooled as well for many years) just turned 24. He ended up quitting school his senior year (at regular high school) and got pretty crazy with drugs and the law.
Two weeks ago he got his results from his GED (that he pursued on his own after years of my nagging) and he also passed with flying colors. Today he started community college.
I am a proud mama, and I’m happy you get to be a proud parent, too!
My son will be 20 this year and he did the same. Once he turned 18 he stopped the homeschool. He has been working at McJob and is now a manager which I am proud of him as well but I wanted him to at least get his GED but he does not seem to care about that.
Hopefully some day he will change his mind.
Thanks
I don’t think I am going to make it another two hours until she knows.
