My cat, that is. She is 8 years old and if I pick her up and smell her, she smells like well, the most wonderful perfume in the world,and I REALLY mean that.
Anyhow, my SO disagrees, tonight he picked up a clean towel which she had been lying on (unbeknowen to him or me) and he said “what does that smell like?” And I said “it smells really nice, why.” And he said “it smells like cat!” So I said “now you mention it, it does, but it still smells really nice.” Henceforth a discussion of (many other times) one being "smell like it was washed in softner, and smells like softner (agreed) and one of "this smells of cat,and smells of cat (also agreed as to whether a cat smells really nice, differing conclusions) well, my conclusion, my cat smells loverly,and like a delicate perfume, if she want’s to sit or lie on my towel, so be it. How does your cat smell??

I love to smell my cats right on their right shoulder when I pick 'em up. Bury my face in their fur and sniff.

I also love kitty smell. I thought I was the only one who had an especially nice smelling cat though. My kitty smells like outdoor dust. She rolls around in the dusty garden a lot, so that might contribute, but she still smells like that in the winter too. I wonder if anyone has done a study on good-smelling cats and why this happens.

My Jules, he still has little kitty smell sometimes. They’re especially sweet smelling after they lick themselves, and curl up for a nice warm nap. Gawd I love my cats…

(picks up sleeping cat, sniffs her) By golly, they do smell pretty good.
If I sniffed a cat, I would go into a sneezing fit.
My doggie, on the other paw, smells wonderful. She’s a corgi… one of those breeds to which nothing stinky sticks because they shed like there’s no tomorrow. She smells like heaven to me.
I even like the smell of her corn-chip toes.

My cats smell…neutral, I guess. They have a slight smell, but it’s mostly just a non-smell.
'Course, like Bunny, I love picking them up and just snuggling them until they get annoyed. Not an easy task, since they love being picked up and snuggled.

Glad to know it’s not just me, I thought I had a weird nose or something seeing as my SO dosen’t agree. Now, this could be interesting, I don’t know who is female and who is male that has already posted, but I sometimes wonder if it’s a gender thing. I don’t really have any conclusions though.
My cat has a very nice smell. In fact, the few times her skin and fur have not had a nice smell, she was sick. I’ve started using that as a general health indicator.
(She’s cute too. And soft. And fluffy. Too bad her personality doesn’t match her looks.)
