It seems to me that Joe Arpaio is little more than your classic “Boss Hogg” type of country sheriff who sees Maricopa County as his own personal fiefdom and is used to having his way by intimidating and slandering anyone in government or the media who dares to stand up to him.
Of course, now it’s the Department of Justice who’s got him under indictment, and it turns out that trying to intimidate the President is a wee more difficult than spreading nasty rumors about a city councilman.

I didn’t state it one anyone in this thread, Iwas referring to the Birthers, if one is a birther then that is who I was referring to, I have no quarrel with people who disagree with me. One learns from peole who think differently, and I don’t set out to expect to have every one think as I do. I don;t think they are stupid or that I know it all. I give them the right to their thoughts and keep the right to think mine. If I am not clear that onus is on me,I cannot think for someone else.
My thought is that if you don’t believe a birth certificate,but know the Mother (that is proven) was in Hawaii at the time of her child’s birth then the child would have to have been born where she was. It is saying that you must think Obama was born in a different place than where the mother was at the time!

I am under the impression that the purpose of the straight dope is trying to get rid of ignorance, and If it is mine, or anyone else’s then it serves its purpose!

It’s simply stating that if he was shown a film of Obama being born under a palm tree, he would think it was fake. You’re the one who brought up the fucking palm tree, after all. You should have been content to forge a video of Obama being born in a hospital room with a doctor saying, “Welcome to the finest hospital in HAWAII, Mrs. Obama,” and the nurse saying, “You certainly are a lucky woman, having a child in HAWAII,” and a sign pointing to the door, “This way to the long form birth registrar of HAWAII,” and so on. No, you had to throw in a palm tree, which could be in California, or Florida, or even Kenya. (Yes, Kenya has palm trees.)

That’s disappointing. I was hoping it would say that I accept that he was born in a delivery room in Kapiolani Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where there were no palm trees, and that the presence of a palm tree in any putative filmed record of the birth would indicate that said putative filmed record would be of questionable probative value.
That’s what I was trying to communicate. I must be a very poor communicator. 
Frankly, I fail to see what the designated hitter rule has to do with any of this.
