Sherlock S2, E3 'The Reichenbach Fall' [UK schedule - SPOILERS APLENTY]

Those tweets answered the Biggest Cliffhanger Of All. And the third series was commissioned when the second was–so the actors & other busy folks have had time to schedule their other work around shooting the next series. Let’s hope we won’t have to wait much longer than a year…

I TunnelBeared glimpses of all three shows & my BluRays will arrive from the UK–any day now. Are they traveling by steamship?

Wonder why PBS has to delay the series until May. And really wonder why my local station is not re-running the first series after frakking Downton Abbey. Of course I can stream the whole thing on Netflix any time–but I want more people to know about this excellent show!

Not only will Benedict Cumberbatch be in the next season of Sherlock, The Hobbit, and the next Star Trek movie, he’ll be in season 4 of Cabin Pressure.

I’m newly hooked on the show, but have only seen the first series. Good Lord, we have to wait until *May *to see series 2? What an unjust world! When I wanted to see the latest episodes of Doc Martin, not being shown yet in the U.S., I just tracked them down on youtube. Why can’t I do this with Sherlock?

I have to watch every episode twice because it all goes by so fast, especially Sherlock’s rapid-fire explanations of his deductions. Another thing I like is that this Watson actually gets visibly exasperated with Sherlock’s dickishness. I always wanted to see past Watsons take a poke at him.

Adore and fear Jim Moriarty.

We just watched all six episodes and really enjoyed them - and Reichenbach Falls was a fantastic finish. May have to rewatch that, though, now that I know how it ends.

My BluRays arrived but are not playable; yes, they’re Region Free–but there’s another problem mentioned in the fine print that renders then unplayable on many US players. However, I’d purchased a Region Free DVD player after mine died & I’ve watched the second series DVD’s more than a few times. There are commentaries on two episodes & a “making of” feature.

The writing is excellent, the actors are outstanding–in the supporting roles, too–not just Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman. And the production remains first-rate–with direction & cinematography more worthy of feature films than a TV series.

Still, it’s not fair that PBS is waiting until May to show them. Seeing the work that goes into each episode & the busy schedules of everybody involved, I can deal with those 3-episodes series. Let’s hope the next one is ready* early* 2013…

At 1 1/2 hours per episode, each one practically is a movie. Can’t wait for series 3.

I also couldn’t wait for PBS and got the DVDs from AmazonUK, both series for about $25 shipped. They arrived wicked fast, 5 days after release overseas. It was relatively easy to find the unlocking code online to make my Phillips DVD player all-region. But friends I’ve lent the set to since have had more difficulties with other players.

And I agree that every character is so well-played. After multiple viewings I still find new things in each performance.
