Sherman, set the Wayback Machine to the Straight Dope.

Would you like to see the internet the way it once was? Well now you can. All you need is remebrance of a now-defunct or still running web site and The Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, and you can see what a web site looked like all the way back to 1996.

Here’s what this very site looked like in January of 1997. Cecil was wondering why the Europeans were the ones who made the great discoveries, as opposed to the Arabs.

Well, it’s not perfect – the earlier archives of my web site don’t have most of the original graphics or icons that I had back then. Though it’s definitely weird to see that they not only archived my site, but also my assortment of travel photos as well…
