Shingles...VERY localised, aka ONE lesion?

Yeah, I know, you’re not my doctor yada yada, and I HAVE been to my GP today who referred me to a dermatologist.

But I’m curious: I have a small lesion on my lower neck that hurts like a muthafucka. Just one. Had it for around 3 months now. Looks like a small scabby bit. It stings and burns UNLIKE all of my previous skin cancers that have been remarkably quiet.

Has anyone had such a small shingles ‘outbreak’ before?

I would guess a seborrheic keratosis–I have these annoying things and they can sting and burn and itch.

But, I know what they are because they were checked out by a dermatologist. (Bad news, with my stupid health insurance once they are not cancerous or precancerous, and mine are not, then getting rid of them is now a “cosmetic” procedure and…not covered. So I scraped 'em off with an Xacto knife.)

YEOW!

Me. Twice. About ten years apart. Both diagnosed by my MD.
