So no jokes of any kind are allowed in GQ? I’ve tried to find the specific rule, but really am getting tired of endless threads.
I just want to know, because I think I made a joke in GQ once, and I don’t wan’t to get banned or anything. I can take lawyer jokes or leave them. Lawyers can often really help people, and their rates can be worth it in the longrun…
Was Shirely U Jest pitted officially, or just by a regular member? and was it because the joke didn’t amuse too many people? I would think that someone who has posted a lot (or l urked so many years as I have) could be given a little slack.
Oh, and about a slight hijack: is having a lot of posts considered good or bad? I sometimes think I post too much, and just end up saying something stupid. In a way, I’m just trying to get my money’s worth, but usually by the time I get to a thread it has a hundred "Me too"s.
I know I can probably look this up somewhere, but my feet are killing me…and yes, I do in fact type with my feet, in factg the right index toe is getting some kind of repetitive stress injury.

No, but my granddaughter was up too, baking brownies while I played on the 'puter. 
She was pitted by a guest that didn’t appreciate her joke. The mods seemed much more amused than angry.
Now, speaking for myself, I never object to a little humor. Not everybody sees it that way. Some members feel that certain of the fora are somehow sacrosanct, and should be totally humorless. They’re entitled to hold that opinion, but I’m thinkin’ I’ll live longer.
