Rick, thank you very much for your post responding to my page one posts. That is precisely what I was looking to have happen. I have no problem with you, Shodan, or Brutus holding different opinions than my self – it’s my task to “make you (pl.) see the light” – or not – by intelligent arguments for my position – and yours to do likewise with regards to me and those who agree with me.
My strong objection, as I think you completely grasped, was in the dismissing of substantive claims about problems with the upcoming Florida vote-gathering methodology owing to who had raised them, and with the seeming implication that anyone who would dare to think that a Republican might break the law to commit electoral fraud must be un-American or worse! :eek: I know there are good Republicans; I count as personal friends several elected officials in upstate New York who belong to the G.O.P., and have a high opinion of the integrity of several others. I can name two Republican State Senators down here of whom I have the same opinion. That respect, however, does not extend to some Florida State officials, past and present, of Republican bent. (Or, for that matter, to certain Democrats in both states whom I believe to be crooked enough to be able to open wine bottles by hand without benefit of corkscrew! ;))
In any case, my thanks and respect for your post are due, and I wanted to make them public – that was a classy thing to do, and I appreciate your having done it.
Really? American liberals at SDMB have said that it is not okay for non-American Conservatives to express and opinion about the election? I truly haven’t noticed that and would like to be aware when that is done. (I will give that liberal a piece of my mind too.)
If I had known at one time that Sam was not an American, I had forgotten. It doesn’t matter to me where the opinions come from. I think that Sam will agree that in general, I personally have been respectful to him even though I disagree with him. My esteem grows for those who take an interest in the politics of other countries.
I should have limited my criticism to SDMB and actually to one poster in particular.

Hell, I could find quotes from both of them that “demonstrate” that “with few exceptions, the Right is a bunch of incredibly arrogant assholes with no redeeming characteristics whatsoever”…
