Short duration, High intensity fever.

Not looking for medical advice, already long past.
Okay so Friday night I went out to eat. I got home about 10Pm feeling crappy. Starting around midnight I was camped in the bathroom violently ejecting from both ends and cramps from hell.

Probably food poisoning, slight chance start of a flu, I’ve been through it all before. I kept sipping Saturday water in small volumes was staying down. SO I went to the couch to laze infront of the TV and drift around sleep like you do when you are sick. Around 6 I was finally getting decent quantities of water down. Started to feel chills. I took my temperature it was perfectly fine. So I grabbed some more blankets and drifted back to sleep. woke up again around 7 I felt trully shitty, disoriented, and burning up. I took my temperature again. 104!!!. This was a serious cause for concern I was considering going to the hospital. I took some Ibuprofen for fever reducer. and put a damp towel over my body for a while. Finally I decided I needed to get some thing in my system after having digested nothing for two days.

I stumbled to the Walgreen’s got some soup, some ice cream and a gallon of Gatorade. Went back home drank a bunch of the Gatorade and some ice cream. Concentrating on seeing if I was gonna puke it up. I didn’t, fortunately.

Then I decided to really start thinking about getting my temp down so I started drawing a bath of cool water. It was around 8. When it suddenly hit me I didn’t feel that bad anymore. I checked temp again, only 99.

That is something weird I have never heard of before. a Fever that bad, for that short of a time. Is that common? or is it possible I artificially raised my temp with the blankets? IS ibuprofen really that much of a miracle fever reducer?
