If you’re of a certain age and had HBO as a child, you may remember a short film about a guy being hunted down in an office by flesh-eating reels of videotape…
I just found it on YouTube! It’s called “Recorded Alive” and it was apparently a student film from 1975 that HBO would air on a show called Short Takes.
I’m sure it looks laughably hokey to today’s viewers, but I remember it as being one of the most disturbingly horrific things I watched as a youngster. Clearly, judging from the comments section, I wasn’t the only one.
Wow, it was so cool to see that again. I remember well that my brother and I would drop whatever we were doing to see that one, and I hadn’t thought of it in years! Thanks, B. Serum.
I know I’ve posted about this film here before, and despite my immense google-fu skills, I’ve never been able to find that movie!
YOU TOTALLY FUCKING ROCK!!!
ETA: This, along with the original cut of Hardware Wars, are two of the greatest short films ever made. Now if only I could find a copy of that on DVD for purchase…
