I remember watching this movie on TV in the 1970s. I think it was black and white, but I’m not positive. There were little crystal-type things that would eat through you, and at the end of the movie a man (I think the main bad guy) was on a small boat and drank out of a cup. Inside the cup was one of the deadly crystal things, and I remember watching in horror as his innards spilled out. That’s about all I remember.
I know it’s not much to go on but I thought I’d give the Dope a try.

The way the Flesh Eaters in their “crystal” stage looked was pretty distinctive – they actually punched little holes in the original film, so the things looked like little “whiter than white” dots.
I’d read about this film in Famous Monster before it came out, then never got a chance to see it for years – I don’t recall it playing in any theaters, it never showed up on TV, and I never saw it on VHS. Finally, a couple of years ago I bought a copy on DVD over the internet.
