Short films you like (may contain spoilers)

I love short films. Granted, I can’t remember half the titles of short films that I’ve seen so I’m hoping this thread will jog my memory a bit.

One short film I like a lot is ‘Twin’. I think it came out shortly after ‘Twin Peaks’ ended on TV. What they did was to basically take whole snippets from the TV series and string them together into a a whole new storyline - about a director who’s obsessed with ‘Twin Peaks’.

The whole film is very low budget as it’s made almost entirely of footage from the series, but the end

(slight spoiler!)

where the guy loses himself in his fantasy is pretty vivid and eerie.

Does anybody else remember this short film? And would like to add their favourites? It could be live action or animated, in any language. Most of my own faves are animated. Although, like I said, I can’t remember any of their darn titles…

“Un Chien Andalou”

On the Internet: “401” and “George Lucas in Love” By far the best Internet short films; both absolutely perfect.

If it’s animated films you want, I could list dozens – Chuck Jones, Tex Avery, and many other directors. Skipping over the obvious, I’d list “Bambi Meets Godzilla,” “The Crunchbird” and “The Critic” (not the Jon Lovitz TV series, but the Mel Brooks cartoon).

Remember when HBO used to show short films in between their main features?
There was one called ‘How to Draw a Cat’ that I just loved.

Un Chein Andalou…I haven’t seen it but since The Pixies “Debaser” is based on it I would love to know where i could find it.

Un Chien Andalou - Of course! I watched this in art history class when we were doing the Surrealists. Freaked the hell out of me, with that eyeball and razor blade scene.

 That was the first thought in my mind when I read the thread title.

Damn it, RealityChuck, the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread was “George Lucas in Love” and you had to get to it before me!

Duality: a short Star Wars fanfilm, consisting of a neat lightsaber duel between two Sith apprentices.

Troops: one of the classic Star Wars fanfilms, tracking the Stormtroopers on the trail on Tattooine, done (perfectly) in the style of “Cops”.

Killer Bean 2: Nifty computer animation, Matrix-style pointless violence between coffee beans.

George Lucas In Love: deserves all the mentions it can get.

Forgot “Hardware Wars,” the best Star Wars parody ever. “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll kiss three bucks goodbye” (a bit dated, but a great line).
