For obvious geeky reasons, my favorite is probably “George Lucas In Love” – crossing Shakespeare in Love with the Star Wars mythos was pretty inspired, once you bought into the premise. To think, the Nemesis of the Rebellion is based on some pompous, wheezing, anal-retentive asthmatic film student named Aaron. My cousin Aaron didn’t like it as much as I did, for some reason.
If anybody can find a link, go right ahead and post it. All the ones I googled are dead.
In the same vein there’s Trooperclerks which is what happens when you put the Clerks movie in the Star Wars universe. Check out the live action and the animated versions.
This one, Tetra Vaal , is one of the greatest pieces I’ve ever seen. Not only because the robot is CGI, but because it is a perfectly done corporate video demo. And, it’s really quite spooky, when you think about it. HIGHLY recommended.
Rockfish is standard-issue CGI, but quite well done.
This is … interesting . Let it play all the way through. Trust me. Someone has too much time on their hands, but at least they’re creative.
No kidding! I think that even who made the film got part of that, as there were a lot of Robocop elements to it. I can’t find the thread now, but there was a long thread a while back where a number of posters said that they were creeped out by the Honda robot commercials.
That isn’t really a laugh track. What you’re seeing was being broadcast on The Tonight Show (hence dialogue like Randal saying “…he diddles your weiner” instead of “…he fucks you in the ass”). You’re hearing the audience laugh along.
[hijack] If you’re a Clerks fan, then you might want to take a look at yesterday’s the big announcement from News Askew (if you’re not seeing the May 31, 2004 update on that link, then the story has been archived and can be found here). [/hijack]
Hey. In three more days I’m out for the summer and I’ll nothing but time on my hands to check out links for web-based shorts like these. Please don’t let this thread die!
What else ya got? I thought the Clerks thing was hilarious, btw.
