short story about the devil as a tightrope walker?

Someone told me about a story his teacher read to him as a kid:
The devil comes to Earth, and decides to go to work for a circus. It’s not a very good one, and barely makes enough money to stay open. The devil becomes a tightrope walker, and the very first night he purposely falls. People are amazed that he’s not killed. So he repeats this every night, and the crowds throng to see it, making the circus prosper.

It sounds interesting. Anyone know the title and author so I can track it down? He didn’t :frowning:

No ideas, huh? Bummer.

The title was The Fallen Angel, but I forget the author.

I believe that’s “Fallen Angel,” by Robert J. Sawyer.

Thank you!
